All of the courses listed below can be delivered as full day or half day sessions.

17.00 - 23.30 (17.00 - 20.00, 20.30 - 23.30)

 

Level 3 First Aid at Work 3 days

 

Course content

Accidents and illness, Using a first aid kit, simple record keeping, Treatment of an unconscious casualty, Heart attacks

Resuscitation, Shock, Choking, Bleeding

Burns and scalds, Poisoning,Fractures

Seizures, Asthma, Severe allergic reaction

eye injuries, low blood sugar, fainting. 

 

Course duration

24 Learning hours with 18 contact hours. The course is usually offered as three consecutive days, however, we also offer it as a split to suit your training needs.

 

Further information

The course requires practical assessments and a written theory assessment multiple choice of 25 question with a pass mark of 20/25 to achieve the required standard. The course is complete with first aid manuals for each student.

        

Level 2 Emergency First Aid at Work 1 day

 

Course content

Health and safety (first aid) regulations

Managing an incident, The priorities of first aid

Treatment of an unconscious casualty, Resuscitation

Shock, Bleeding, Common workplace injuries.

 

 

Course duration

8 hours learning with 6 hrs contact time providing a recognized 3 year qualification (QCF).

 

Further information

The trainer will conduct a continuous assessment of all students during the course There will be a short written assessment at the end of 15 multiple choice questions. The pass mark is 10/15. The course is complete with a first aid manual for each student.

 

First Aid at Work & Emergency First Aid at Work Refresher - 3 hours

This is a HSE recommendation for you to keep up your CPR skills

 

Level 3 Paediatric First Aid(This course is currently being rewritten in line with the new OFQUAL requirements)

 

Course content

First aid kit, Action planning, Treatment of an unconscious casualty, Resuscitation, Choking,

Asthma and diabetic emergencies, Head injuries

Seizures, Bleeding, Burns, Sprains, strains and fractures, Poisoning, bites and stings, Foreign objects,

Childhood conditions (e.g. measles, meningitis, croup).

 

Course duration

12 hours.i.e 2 full days or 4 half days

 

Further information

Continuous assessment by trainer. A skills-based final assessment is available to students working towards a Childminding NVQ.

 

First Aid For Sports Coaches and Participants

 Course duration 4 hours depending on sports requirements.

 

Assessment would be continuous through the session and involve observation, peer assessment and a short practical test at the end of CPR, the unconscious casualty and bleeding.

asthma, bleeding, bone, muscle and joint injuries, fractures, sprains and strains , burns and scalds,

chest pains, choking, communication and casualty care , cramp, drowning, emergencies in public,

head injury, extremes of heat and cold, primary survey, recording incidents, resuscitation, the role of the first aider, the unconscious casualty, winding .

 

Each group would have to be a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 12

 

AED Training 3 hrs

 

If someone collapses in the workplace and needs defibrulation - an ambulance is sent for - their chances of survival are less than 5%. If there is an on site defibrulator - their chances of survival are greater than 60%. I can provide you with and train your workforce in the effective use of an AED

 

First Aid At Work and AED Refresher 4 hrs

 

Combine the two in four hours.

 

Archery Leader

 Course duration 4 days

 

There are four Course Units


Unit A: General
Candidates will gain knowledge of:
1. all safety observances and rules
2. alternative range layouts with regard to public and participant safety
3. suitable rounds for beginners and juniors
4. various forms of archery
5. various incentives schemes.

 

Unit B: Shooting
Candidates will learn how to hit the target consistently at up to 20 yards using basic Bare-Bow  & Freestyle methods.

Unit C: Teaching and improving
Candidates will be able to:
1. teach basic Bare-Bow style
2. teach basic Freestyle
3. improve performance in both

Unit D: Equipment care, safety and use
Candidates shall learn how to:
1. advise on suitable equipment for activity groups and individuals
2. recommend sources of supply and be aware of costs
3. maintain equipment in good working order
4. understand the importance of equipment maintenance ref. safety and accident prevention.

 

The assessment is carried out by an external assessor who will observe shooting, teaching and may use written or oral questioning.
